List any problems you have had with the new OS, plugins, apps, whatever audio related post 'em up here.

I have upgraded and nothing to report as yet, apart from launchpad being an arse and a half.
All my logic plugs worked fine (in 32 bit mode, not sure about 64).
Guess i'm lucky, I have heard some peoples Logic has gone on a bender and doing odd behaviours like not importing .rex files etc..

Logic 8 does not work in Lion. Not sure whether there will be an update. The current version of Recycle also doesn't work as Rosetta is no longer supported. Not a osx user anymore but thought I would post these.

Ive been waiting for lion forever because of the trim function.

been wanting to gear up with an SSD alongside my Hard drive. However, before buying it, i'll be backing up my entire harddrive in a way that i can just scrape it off and try again if it doesnt work properly (kinda like Revert function in a daw).

would time machine be a good tool for that (first time i do it) and is there any risk i loose all my stuff !?!?!?

Time machine can work to do a system backup from, but i have heard some people have had issues with it... on the interweb so take that with a grain of salt.

I would recommend to use SuperDuper! http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/ ... ption.html and create a back up on a spare harddrive... you can even boot to superdupers disk backup and use it like your old computer its really cool and saved my butt a few times whne i would need to upgrade harddrives in my macbooks.

If you are making tunes with no problem, why upgrade the OS just because?

So they can be the envy of everyone when they bring their newly upgraded Macs to Starbucks.

i don't know much about lion but snow leopard apparently runs smoother and faster overall than leopard, so i'd like to upgrade at some point. logic 9 has a bunch of improvements and it's got flex time, which i'd like to use. i don't drink coffee but thank you for the starbucks recommendation!

TRIM support is the only reason i want to upgrade. and it is a pretty good one imo.

There's loads of new features, improvements and tweaksw in Lion detailed here: http://www.apple.com/uk/macosx/whats-new/features.html

Serato don't have new drivers for it yet, so a no go for me. And to be honest a lot of the improvements are for the brand new macbooks and alike, I've got the 4th gen white macbook and everything works perfectly so I won't be upgrading in the foreseeable future.

yeah the whole UI has been smoothed out. I seem to be lucky and the only thing thats not compatible for me so far is my Ederol (roland) midi keyboard, of which I dont use all that often anymore.
The finder is way more logical now, you can brows using column view, but also have the ability to view things in order of name, size, date created etc within column view, which you couldn't before, major time saver for me!.
Launchpad is aight if your used to using iphones/ipads. Personally I dislike it. But 'mission control' is really useful. I have actually done away with my second monitor in favor of this. I can just swipe my two fingers on my mouse and get to another desktop instead. useful In logic if you have a separate mixer window!

I upgraded my 2008 black macbook thinking there wouldnt be any issues... WRONG. Apple normally get things right first time. What a piece of shit Lion is. Now my internal sound card isn't listed under sound devices. In fact it says I've got no devices. This is a common problem. My TC Konnekt interface doesn't show up. I can luckly use my Virus TI as a sound card and that works in Live but not under the system sound. So glad I didn't pay for this privilege. This should be fixed in the 10.7.1 update but it's whenever that comes out.
