crackle on bass knobs on mixer
had a quick search but couldn't find anything
the bass pots/knobs on my mixer have been making a horrible crackly sound when used. these are the two main EQs i use so i assume it's general wear and tear but does anyone know what the best fix is?
heard something about spraying contact cleaner - would that sort this out?

Re: crackle on bass knobs on mixer
I have a similar issue with my master headphone knob.
It balances the sound at high level more towards the left ear.
Maybe your solution will help me.

Assuming the mixer is out of warranty, unscrew the top plate and give all the contacts a wipe round with an anti static cloth.
Re: crackle on bass knobs on mixer
will check the warranty but i've had it a good 3-4 years so i expect it's probably out by now

Yeah try a good cleaning. This happens every once in a while to some of my old drum machines knobs after sitting for a while. Get it a cover if you don't already have one, there's all kinds of little things flying through the air that will be attracted to electronics like that. I use black pillow cases for a couple of smaller bits of gear haha.

Re: crackle on bass knobs on mixer
spray some contact cleaner on the pot and give it a good load of twists.
look for a can of servisol super 10. there are other ones, but some of them can corrode stuff unless you wipe it off after use.
