RITUAL AUG 25th: Special Event (Free before 9:30, $10 after)

The time has come to once again expand the club to it's full potential and open the main room, as well as the catacombs, to bring you yet another massive lineup. In doing so, we will also be presenting you with our second installment of our Dubstep Ragga Night. Not all sets will be completely Ragga style dubstep like the first ragga night, but most performers will have heavy Dub and Reggae influence in their sets.

2 rooms open! Please note that pricing is a bit different this week. The party will be free before 9:30 and $10 afterwards for this week only.

We are looking for 1, if not 2, Burning Man tickets to be given away at a raffle this Thursday, with all the proceeds going to a friend that was just diagnosed with breast cancer. She does not have insurance and is in dire need so I figured with our steady draw of people at our event, we would be able to contribute a great deal of loot for her. If you are holding on to a couple tickets and can't make it to the burn, I urge you to sell them to us because they will be used for a really good cause. Please email us at ritualdubstep@gmail.com with any leads.

STARKEY:

PJ Geissinger aka Starkey is blessed with musical arrangement skills that would leave most composers green faced with envy. This combined with his high production ethic makes him a formidable force not only in the underground but also as a super producer of the future. Starkey is yet another example of what the streets of Philadelphia can create, his sound hits hard and is littered with bass and colourful audio frequencies. If you like grime, dubstep, hip hop and all things “street bass” then Starkey’s hard edged spaced out crunk is the sound for you.

In 2008, Starkey was selected by Vex’d as one of seven new DJs for Radio 1’s MARY ANNE HOBBS’ low end special ‘Generation Bass’ and was the only non-UK DJ to be chosen. He was recently chosen to create a track in the space of 2 hours live on Radio 1, the track received daytime radio play and was top of the reviews list across many channels.

Starkey is also co-owner of the Seclusiasis and Slit Jockey Record labels, and a member of the Trouble & Bass Crew, releasing the freshest output from around the globe. This combined with his fortnightly radio show on Sub FM has positioned him as one of the tastemakers to emerge out of the bass heavy underground.

Recent remixes include Armand Van Helden, Gorilla Zoe, Uffie, Tempa T, Zomby, Inner Party System, The Constellations, Kano and The Foals to name a few!! With production on the cards/ pitched for Missy Elliot, MIA, Britney Spears, Fatima, Dizzee and more...Move over Timbaland, Dre and Swizz beats, the future is set to be bright for Starkey!!

DREAD FOXX:

Dread Foxx has been a DJ for over 11 years. He was introduced to djing after attending many of Houston's infamous Purrin Lion DnB events and ever since then he has been hooked on controlling the decks. He began producing and djing dnb under the moniker "Cle" with releases on Fokus, Love, and Starlight records. He first found dubstep in 2007 and already being a big fan of traditional dub and garage, it was a perfect fit.

Since being bit by the dubstep bug he has had digital releases on EyeTen, Stupid Fly, Betamorph, Abducted, Filthy Digital and just recently a 12" on Airtight Imprint. He is also working on loads of tunes, with collaborators like 6Blocc, Fragile, Chi, Werd2Jah , Hellfire Machina, Sol.id, Lost Prophet, BMC, Bukkha, hotSOAP, King Rubby, Bokator, and Outlaw Producer. Known for playing energetic dubstep sets that incorporate reggae dub, hip-hop, and rnb aimed directly at the dancefloor.

ROOMMATE: (of Babylon System)

San Francisco based artist Roommate (Justin McCauley) has a musical career that can be described as prolific and ever changing. His tireless efforts in both production and DJ'ing have currently brought him to the forefront of the worldwide bass music community. With over a decade of solid DJ'ing and countless original production releases, you can be sure Roommate has secured his title on an international scale.

Beginning his musical quest with guitar lessons at the age of 11, Roommate has since developed his craft to an undeniable style and fashion by intergrating both organic and electronic sounds. After self releasing his first solo album (Dubfunk vol1) in 2003, he quickly gained musical notiriety in the U.S. counter culture. When dubstep first hit the U.S. streets, Roommate was quick to find a love and understanding for the music and begin production. Joining forces with L.A. based artist and long time friend No Thing, the two formed another key part of dubstep history; Babylon System. Roommate / Babylon System contributed many of the early U.S. dubstep releases such as "50 Blocks Away"," Examination of TIme", and "Loaded" to name a few. After a slew of quality releases, Roommate was sky rocketed into the international limelight. Years of global touring followed with undying passion and intensity at every show.

Co founding the rip roaring label Hollow Point Recordings with friend and artist SPL was another huge step for Roommate. Gaining confindence from consistant releases and great sales, Roommate used Hollow Point to push the boundaries of sound and express his musical tastes. Following Hollow Point, Roommate branched out to creat two new musical imprints. King Dubbist and Avocaudio are Roommate's latest forward thinking incarnations. Focusing on huge vibes and stellar production, these labels span from Dubstep to Trip-hop to Reggae. Fusing and encompassing Roommate's broad and compelling love for musical freshness.

Babylon System, the California based dubstep outfit, consists of the killer combo of veteran dj/producers: ROOMMATE and NO THING. Since 2006 the two have been setting the world on fire with their aggressive, gangster and reggae infused dancefloor sound. Their releases are all anxiously awaited and their dubs are spun by every big dj in the scene. Tunes like “Examination of Time”, “Loaded”, “Get on up”, and “Hyphy” were instant anthems, selling out from all world wide record shops, with heavy support from giants like; N-type, Plastician, Bassnectar, Noah D, Emalkay, and Skream. Live, they get the party rowdy with quick mixes, diverse track selection, top shelf dubs, and their contagious positive energy. Not only are their legendary sets leaving a huge impression on every major North American city but they’ve turned heads all over Europe, and an Australia/New Zealand tour is their next target. Expect more anthem releases and smashed up dance floors. Watch out, their thick, gangster sound will knock you out!!! soundcloud.com/roommate-babylon-system
