Delta 1010 MIDI does not work within ACID Pro

So I bought Acid Pro 7; have Massive, Roland A-37 keyboard controller, windows 7 professional, and a Delta 1010 soundcard.
I can use my controller to play Massive sounds via midi.
I can paint midi notes in Acid which can trigger Massive sounds which I can hear.
I can insert Massive as an Acid plug-in.

I CANT play/record midi notes in Acid via my keyboard.
It seems pretty basic but I cant get it to work.
I've painstakingly followed every word of the manual to the point of knowing it better than Sony support.
I've installed the latest and not so latest drivers many times (yes, the right way).
I've contacted Sony; they just recite the manual which is full of errors and ultimately deleted my question from the forum.
I've contacted NI; they're cool but said it's a Sony Acid issue.
I've tried to contact M-Audio but they're greedy bastards and want me to pay for support.
I've already paid a ton for the 1010 so f

k them; no more $.
Anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks so much!

Why did you buy Acid 7? There are so many better DAWs around that are not bug ridden. The support from Sony is shite. I used Acid 6 for a few years and it had a mind of its own with plugins, MIDI etc.
That said, you should still be able to sort this out. What exactly is happening when you press the record button? Does Acid recognize the Keybaord at all?

I'm thrilled that someone replied; Thank you!
I know... Acid is pretty cheesy; but I'm familiar with Vegas and SoundForge so it seemed logical.
Sounds like FL Studio is better. Oh well.
When I press "Arm for Record" on the midi track nothing happens at all.
When I then press the main "Record" button the song plays but there is no midi signal and nothing is recorded.
Here is what Acid says:
********************************
"First make sure that your MIDI device is connected properly and that it is set in the MIDI preferences.
To check this, go to Options > Preferences > MIDI and make sure that your device shows for both MIDI input, and MIDI track playback.
Once this is set go to Insert > MIDI track. Drag your MIDI track to resize it and see all of the options on the track.
On the track itself you can click on the MIDI track input to select your current device.
Then for the MIDI track output you can select the VST or other Soft Synth that you want to use.
After setting all of these options, click the MIDI Inline Editor and draw in a MIDI section.
This is where the MIDI data will be recorded. Press the "Arm for Record" button on the MIDI track, then press the Master record button or press Control+R to start recording MIDI data."
*********************************
I've done this 52 times already; no luck.
Thanks again for your help; I really appreciate it.

Have you checked your midi - input settings?
Your midi in should be set to use your Delta.
Or setup to receive all midi info.
It seems to me as though you have not assigned the correct channels for midi input from your controller.
Keep at it with Acid, don`t let anyone deter you.
If it works for you, it works.

Checked my midi - input settings a zillion times.
It is set to use my Delta AND some Microsoft Midi card.
There are check boxes next to each of them to select or deselect them.
There is also an option check box to receive all midi info.
I've tried both options many times.
My controller works fine when it's connected to my V-drum sound modual
and it works fine when I use Massive which is in my PC.
Are you saying I may need to assign different Midi channels in my controller when using Acid?
Or do I need to assign the channels in Acid?
Acid does work great with audio and I know Sound Forge inside out.
I'd rather not learn a new program over such a simple issue but Sony is just being a bitch.
I've asked them 15 times now and I've done everything they say.
Then the bastards just closed my question and there's no way to respond.
I've posted a "new" question last week and still no response.

Yes I have.
Not helpful at all.
I'm doomed.
Must be some weird glitch with windows or something.
I'll just pay someone to fix it.
Thanks for your help.

Problem resolved!
I left a nasty msg about Sony tech support on the Sony Forum and copied it to every Sony email address I could find.
Next day I got a phone call; problem fixed in 5 minutes.
Had to reset Acid by holding cntrl+shift while launching.
Now it's working great and I can go nuts with Massive in Acid
Thanks to everyone who helped!

This isn't a good way to look at it all. It's about personal preference. People say don't use pro tools for EDM and that's what I use almost exclusively because I know how to use it, have experience with it, and like it's workflow.
Most DAWs can make the exact same music it's just workflow that comes down to it.

Thats not what I meant. The use of 'better' was probably the wrong word. The argument was weighted towards the support from Sony and the fact there probably won't be another Acid update (and the fact that I had to abandon Acid 6 for a lot of unresolved issues/bugs). If you were buying a new daw now, why spend $200 on Acid 7 when something like Reaper is exactly what Acid should have been, is 1/4 of the price, has great support, always updated etc. I'm all for using things where you have a workflow. I still use Reason 3 because it does what I need it to and I don't need to upgrade. You defintely don't need the latest and greatest to make top tunes.

I guess this was just a misunderstanding then. It's not really the DAW's fault it's sony's.
