Metallic Hats/OpenHats (Shakers?)
That metalic shaking sound that hits every downbeat… Only way to describe it:

I have a pretty extensive percussion library, but I’ve never really had any of these, always need them. Where’s a good source? They’re never isolated in tunes, and I don’t know what exactly its called to buy a pack of them.

Could be many things. Try pitching your hats and especially try some rides. Emalkay one sounds like a processed ride cymbal.
Re: Metallic Hats/OpenHats (Shakers?)
As above; a quick way to make metallic shakers is to start from a metallic source, like cymbals. So, you'd take one, cut it short, and fade it in. Then copy that, but add a slightly softer attack and harder release.
Or put pence/pennies in an aluminum can and record yourself shaking it. Then effect it (e.g. reverb, comb filter) to taste.

Agreed. Flanging definitely creates metallic sounds if used properly.

The second one just sounds like a shaker and some filtered rides.
The first one sound like a tambourine. An easy way to get that sort of sound that I do sometimes is to get a hand full of change and record yourself shaking it. Keys works too.

Just fyi don't reply to those bots, sometimes they will come back. A few posts replying to the bot have already been deleted it seems. (But not the actual bot post... ??)
