Dubstep Song Structure/Composition Without Sample?

Basically I'm talking about after the drop. Where the bassline, melody, sub bass, drums, etc. all play together but what parts play what. Like idk it's hard to explain, but like where the drums would cut off and just play the melody and then the bass would come in after 16 beats, etc. That's what I mean by song structure. I've listened to a lot of dubstep trying to figure out good composition but all of them have samples which fill it up. I can make a good song without a sample, but I can't get the structure to sound right without it seeming either repetitive or empty.

For example, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvhpab9As4Y The song would sound repetitive without the sample. They throw it in on the 4th bar, then have an interlude with it. There's gotta be something to the composition I'm forgetting :/

Thats part of the fun. Yes its definitely used quite a bit in dubstep, but if you're going to go for a song without using samples, your going to have to naturally come up with something interesting to fill that void. Be creative and try to come up with ideas that could make that transition from the build to the drop different. The more you innovate on your tunes, the more you'll stand out and have your own style, in my opinion.

delay, atmosphere/pads, and slightly offbeat drum hits can all fill the void while creating tension in your tune

replace the sample with some synth then? if you dont wanna use samples then break apart that tunes arrangement, and then use some synth to fill the part that the sample does. or just get a sample haha.
