When I was in college in San Diego we got hit by a 6.8 and our teacher didn't even stop her lecture.

you mean the one 1500 miles away from here that caused absolutely no damage, killed no one, and did nothing?

I'm really not surprised about the capitol thing though. The entire metro are freaks out the second the word "snow" is mentioned. I've had school cancelled over weather forecasts before anything started to fall out of the sky. Even Obama thinks it's ridiculous.

A 5.9 magnitude earthquake happened just outside DC, I live in Connecticut and I was at at stoplight and my car just starting shaking like there was a stiff breeze. This all happened while I was listening to some Excision, so clearly God(and presumably Jesus) hates brostep and was trying to teach me a lesson. It was a harrowing experience, I will appreciate all your thoughts and prayers but I think I will be ok. I will now listen to only christian dubstep so to make sure my soul is clear before I am lifted to heaven.

The USGS says the epicenter was in Mineral, Virginia which is only a few minutes from where I live.
I was in class at the time and the buildings were shaking like crazy for about 15 seconds with a short aftershock.
My deaf history teacher was just confused.

Edit: ...and we have an earthquake that's supposed to hit here in a few days.
