it's dumb to ask anyone their opinions on something? yes most people will vote for what they are currently using (hence why they are using that one and not another one in the first place). many people have used more than one and have an opinion as to which one they like more. i wasn't saying this to determine which one i would use, i'm perfectly happy with my DAW of choice i was just trying to see actual number on which one most people were using/liking.Sparxy wrote:this is a dumb question but I voted anyway. People are only gonna vote for what theyre currently using really
All DAWs are equal tbh - its what you do with it that matters. Try a few demos and find which one works best for you
People opinion of on why they use one and not another is going to be based around simple workflow stuff, not quality of the software.aeser wrote:it's dumb to ask anyone their opinions on something? yes most people will vote for what they are currently using (hence why they are using that one and not another one in the first place). many people have used more than one and have an opinion as to which one they like more. i wasn't saying this to determine which one i would use, i'm perfectly happy with my DAW of choice i was just trying to see actual number on which one most people were using/liking.Sparxy wrote:this is a dumb question but I voted anyway. This is about like asking a doctor what brand of scalpel they think is best... they all do the same exact damn thing.
not even with reason 6 supporting audio?wub wrote:Reason isn't a DAW
You can produce digital audio from start to finish with it hence it is a digital audio workstation. Renoise is technically a "tracker" but also can produce digital audio from start to finish hence it's a DAW. and that's about as much as i care to argue semantics about this.wub wrote:Reason isn't a DAW
They do not work in completely different ways, completely different workflows/looks/feels yes, but by your reasoning I as an Fl user shouldnt be able to give advice to a logic user... and thats just not true, I can. Why? Because at the end of the day, spare some coloring, a compressor ratio is a compressor ratio, no matter what daw you use. So no, not doing anything in different ways. Universal science.aeser wrote:Teknicyde wrote:Audio processing has been a universal science since before the computer was invented.

they do mostly the same things in for the most part completely different ways, but my question wasn't "which DAW will do different things?" it was just "which one do you like the best?".
No. Its a midi workstation. Not an Audio one. To be a 'digital audio workstation' it would have to support the recording and processing of audio. Which it doesnt. DAW's arent just used to produce electronic music, they are also used for recording bands, film scores, ect. which reason just outright doesnt support unless you integrate Record.aeser wrote:You can produce digital audio from start to finish with it hence it is a digital audio workstation. i'm aware there are MANY other threads about which DAW people prefer, the only point of this one was to have a poll which i was not aware of any other thread having (if i am mistaken i apologize).Teknicyde wrote:http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... &start=480 > .... this. Go here if you wanna bring this back up.

It's teaching me that despite my best intentions, some users still aren't as au faux with the Advanced Search as they could be.Teknicyde wrote:this is silly and not teaching anyone anything.
