Have any of you noticed those silent alarms, like the high pitched ones, i dont know if theyre there to piss animals off but once ive had a date or two with Mary i notice them so much more and its fucking uncomfortable.

Yeah they put them in areas youths congregate, just to piss them the fuck off.

Right. I’ve heard the tone on mp3 that was going around News Sites when the story broke, so I guess I can hear it, but never have in public...

i would think the mp3 compression would cut those super high frequencies, so what you're probably hearing is a lower frequency which is neither as annoying or as loud as the ones broadcast by these 'mosquitoes' (i think that's what they're called, or maybe they're to control mosquitoes as well...)

Heard lots of this stuff around the states, the most annoying is some installed in trees in parking lots to scare off birds so they don't plop on people's cars. It's so annoying, I'd much rather have poop on my car than hear that constantly. Plus there's still birds around!
There's similar stuff at outdoor restaurants too, like some electronic bird cackling sound. It doesn't seem to work for shit.

When I was in high school everyone had it as their ringtone cause most ofthe teachers couldn't hear it lol.

They are bird deterrants, mainly for pigeons although they work on seagulls too
