Hey guys,

I've been scoping out this site since I was turned on to Dubstep about 9 months ago. I'm a little late in the game and only have a background in rock music. I was always into older stuff like Stabbing Westward, Orgy, NIN, etc... One day my friend had me check out numbernin6 and I was so amazed that I did some research and found this site. Since then I listened to a lot of popular dubstep artist's but have to say I'm more impressed with a lot of stuff I've heard from DSF member's soundcloud widgets. Some of you have some really amazing tracks that I am constantly listening to. Some of you have given some great tips on here and I applaud you. 9 months ago, I knew nothing. I learned everything from here. Pretty soon, I'll start being able to throw in some of my own helpful hints.
Until then! :Q:

 I can't speak for everyone but it seems most of us have had/will have/are having a phase like this at some point in time.

I remember all I used to listen to was 80's Thrash Metal and "every other genre was shit"

Noone was born with EDM in there ears. Or well maybe these days, given the little ones running around fests, buuuuttt.... for the most part, its noones lullabyes.

There was a lot of very early electronica style stuff played in my house; Tangerine Dream, Jean Michel Jarre, the trippier side of Deep Purple.

All I can remember from when I was very young was hearing my sisters blasting whatever boy band they were into at the time :(

My genre of choice during this phase was metalcore

Guilty pleasure though, some days I just love to throw on a great angry album!

Oooo I had a phase of that too. I'll admit it's nice after listening to EDM for a while to go back and rock out for a day or so
