Re: wav or mp3?
Wav is same quality as you'd get on CD mate.
Depending on type of music mp3 320kbps may be ok, but I go for wav

Re: wav or mp3?
So when I burn it will it still be the same quality?
Re: wav or mp3?
Audio files don't lose quality when you burn them on a CD mate, they stay the same.
And if you're planning on playing the tunes out on a system I suggest you buy WAV's, 320s are ok too but WAV is just better quality.
WAV files are lossless, which means they haven't lost audio quality during the process of compressing like 320 mp3's have.
In terms of audio quality WAV files are the best, they have the highest bitrate. Then there's FLAC, which is also a lossless audio file but have a lower bitrate than WAVs (FLAC files usually have a bitrate of between 500 - 1000 kbps, while WAVs can go up to 1400kbps), though for personal use most people prefer FLAC because they aren't as limited in storing metadata as WAVs are (WAV files are very limited in this). And then finally there's mp3 files which are compressed files, this means the bitrate has been decreased to lower the total file size which makes them better for portable use (WAV files can be up to 30mb while 320 mp3's are usually around 10mb).
There is also .AAC files, which is Apple's own audio file, and these are about the same as mp3's. Also compressed, but the bitrate is a bit different. (a 256 AAC file is pretty much identical in terms of audio quality as a 320 MP3)
You can understand that, when you're playing tunes out in a club, the higher the bitrate is of the tune that your playing, the better it is for the hearing of the audience. Therefore playing WAV files is best, though it should also be perfectly fine to play 320 mp3's. However, if you would play an mp3 file that has a bitrate of, let's say, 256 or 192 on a big system it wont sound very good and would probably be damaging to the ears.

MP3 dude and at no more than 160kbs cus you can fit more on your hard drive and the quality is good enough for playing out.

You don't understand why people might get annoyed at what seems like the hundredth wav or 320 topic? No need.johnwobbles wrote:Cheers guys. Brasco stop being a Hi, I'm a homophobe.

Re: wav or mp3?
Yes im so so sorry for asking a question thats been asked before (which I clearly wasnt aware of otherwise i wouldnt have asked in the first place...).
Its obviously had a major impact on your lives and i hope you can recover from this traumatic experience.
On a serious level, this is an internet forum, there are A LOT of topics. Its extremely likely that some questions will be repeated, im sure its happened before, im sure it will happen again.
get over it (and if you dont like topic why waste your time posting on it)

Re: wav or mp3?
Look man, no need to get antsy. Some people that come here to read regularly get bored of seeing the same topics over and over and over again. Perhaps if you stick around long enough, you might get bored of having to trawl through the same shit about Brostep vs Deep, Vinyl vs Digital, Death Of Dubstep, and of course, Wav vs 320. As for being unaware of it, there's a search box in the top corner. I'm sure if you take a few seconds to search for yourself, you'll find a topic where this has been discussed to death.johnwobbles wrote:Yes im so so sorry for asking a question thats been asked before (which I clearly wasnt aware of otherwise i wouldnt have asked in the first place...).

There's plenty of people willing to help you on the forum, but you'll find there might be fewer if you carry on trying to call people f@ggots.

Re: wav or mp3?
Actually i did search but had trouble finding anything (probably because im relatively new to the forum) hence why i said i wouldnt have posted anything if i was aware of the question being asked before.
And of course I get bored of seeing the same things just as you do, but, like i said, its a public forum and its inevitable that things will get repeated.
I just dont see the point in moaning about it
