On his Debut release for Soulstep Records, Qualmsound works with a minimal palette, letting each brush stroke barely graze the next, creating sparse and haunting soundscapes. Working with long intros and meager movements, Qualmsound bring you two haunting head-nodders.

A-side Breathe is reminiscent of Timberland, a post-millennial slice of future R&B. A somber vocal sample wails in the distance over warm drum pads and finger snaps to create an instrumental that would be at home on a post-mortem Aalyiah release.

B-side Ethereal is exactly that, incorporating light tabla hits and the tastiest of warm bass lines on the low end while the slightest of synth strokes creates just the lightest hint of melody.
