SMOG Resident Dj and Producer Kelly Dean Releases Single “Battlefield”
September 27, 2011 - Los Angeles Dubstep label SMOG debuts its tenth release “Battlefield” by Southern California dj and producer Kelly Dean. Already receiving massive support from fellow label-mates and djs worldwide, “Battlefield” is backed by a remix from French dj and producer Von D. This monstrous release is available in digital format from online retailers such as; Beatport, iTunes, Boomkat, Amazon, and Juno Download.
With previous releases on Rubik Records, Peer Pressure, Shift Recordings, Foreign Familiar and a background in drum & bass, Kelly Dean is no stranger when it comes to dance floor bangers.
“Battlefield” takes us on an epic journey that starts with an orchestral arrangement and slamming drums. It quickly drops into a stomping and methodical grind-fest with clever bass modulation and heavy melodic elements that create an environment that is both cinematic and aggressive.
Von D’s remix of “Battlefield” captivates listeners with its relentlessly hypnotic groove. Electric synth tones cycle around the ghostly string section until the listener looses all track of space and time. The spirit of the A-side remains, but the remix is something new altogether.
