I have a long sfx sound that I'm trying to use, kinda like a pad. So if I hold a key on my keyboard it plays out and goes through a variety of sounds for a few seconds. When I hit record and play the notes I want and play it back, it is completely different!!

Tried that. I hold down the key for about 4 beats, but when I draw in like that, ableton only lets it hold for two beats and then repeats it from the beginning.

Anybody? Sorry for the double post! I just had a ton of inspiration and had worked on a song for two hours straight after not having time to do anything for 3 weeks! Now I'm stuck and losing my drive. Please help.

That's what I'm talking about, I extended the note out for 8 beats but every two beats it acts as if it lets go of the key and plays it again

Are you looping the section? What happens if you use a different synth?

You sure you're looking at the screen right? Sometimes abelton's appearance fucks like that. Does to me at least.
Checked your tempo and time signatures?

Everything looks good. Do you guys know of any decent free screen recording software so that I can show you guys?

Youtube is one better way of sharing the video

Didn't have a new youtube account and needed one bad, didn't think to make one but already had a dropbox anyway.

Uploading to youtube now though if you don't want to spend the time downloading it.

*UPDATE*

It's going to take 630 minutes to upload to youtube - that's 10 and half hours for those who aren't so great with numbers......soooooo.......downloading might be the way for you guys. I'm going to continue the upload nonetheless.

Also, what are you running the sound in, a synth or a sampler?

are you sure you don't have your loop bar set at 2 bars instead of the full length of your clip? If you have looping enabled (upper middle toolbar loop button) and its not set for the entire length of your clip then it will just loop the first 2 bars.

In the video I was first playing the c note on my keyboard so you can hear it.........then I played it with the note drawn in and you can hear a huuuuggge difference. I will try to take screenshots. You said snippet tool in the cam studio?
