Though most DAWs come with a piano VST as standard - FLKeys, for example.

The Native Instruments Piano collection is nice.
I also enjoy using AAS String Studio to make piano-like instruments.

Ivory is one of the top one's alright but it's pricey! I find the piano's on Kontakt adequate for me

Mda piano is the best freeware one ive found so far but a lot of the time I try and make my own. Triangle/sine waves amp env no attack decay to taste no sustain no release reverb + subtle effects to taste. More of a keyboardy rhodesey sort of sound than a piano but ive had some awesome results. Obviously if your after a convincing piano this isnt gonna be the best approach though.
