To the mods: If I should have posted this in the collab thread I apologize. That thread seems more geared towards open collab while this is one song in particular.

I'm trying to finish this track and I'd like for it to have heavily vocoded/autotuned (think daft punk - harder faster stronger) vocals. I tried my best using TTS + Newtone + Vocodex, but I think it fell short. If you have a talkbox, or are willing to sing on this with the presumption that it would be heavily modded, I would love to collab this with you, and of course you would be given credit for your work. I really want to finish it and I'm afraid I'm not skilled enough with autotuning and vocoding.

A big part of the autotune vocal is already in the real voice of the singer, so if he aint singing right autotune is gonna fuck things up even more.

I used newtone to change the pitch because I used TTS to make the vocals. I'd record them myself but my Mbox has been a bit wonkey lately.

Does anyone have any experience and/or advice for getting a crisper sound out of a vocoder? I'm thinking maybe my carrier synth needs more harmonics or something to be more understandable.

a good tip is to actually use a synth with a shitload of high harmonics for a really bright sound (for instance in Ableton Live, i often use Analog or Operator with sawtooth waves, and i mostly bypass the filter entirely to get as much frequency content through to the vocoder).
It is also, in my opinion, a great idea to detune two oscillators with the same waveform (again saws are ideal because they are the brightest) or transpose them an octave apart.
I also really like to use FM synthesis in carrier signal because you get awesome robotic voices a simple saw cannot achieve.

Another great tool is Sonic Charge's Bitspeek which is like a mix of a talkbox and a speak n spell
You can hear it in the verse vocals of this remix i did (and there is also a nice vocoder sound in the chorus vocals)
