This is some interesting software
My question is:
Is anyone else having issues accessing the website, or is it just me?

Re: Hit 'n' Mix
i seen this posted on here before a few months back, looks like theyve added a trial version now.. you can also find the trial on that cnet download site.
apparently hit'n'mix is a hit n miss.. its got a lot of bad reviews on how it seperates instruments on nearly all songs poorly. whether its wav or 320 mp3.. i guess its worth giving it a trial though maybe

Re: Hit 'n' Mix
Site is working fine for me.
Yeah this sounded really promising in theory (this sort of idea ALWAYS does though, it's just always impractical), and sure enough it sounds like it is once again.
I don't understand why people keep trying to do this, as it's been said many a time, separating instruments from a full track post-mixing/mastering is like trying to take the ingredients back out of a cake. It simply can't be done efficiently.

Re: Hit 'n' Mix
agreed. the quality of the sounds are pretty bad. i don't see how any amount of processing could tell what the original instruments sounded like before mixdown.
Re: Hit 'n' Mix
The whole idea seems a bit 'meh' to me. I don't get their target audience. Serious producers aren't gonna want to spend more than a few minutes to see how it works, and people who really want to get into music will quickly move up to a standard DAW. I can't see how this thing has any space to fill at all.
Re: Hit 'n' Mix
Well, the idea is simple isn't it?
It would make sampling a lot easier in theory. You could separate every part of a tune, trash the drums from an old funk tune, or even keep them for breaks, get all those melodies and vocals that you can never seem to find on the internet etc..
Thanks for the heads up though. Guess I won't be bothering with it this time.
