I made the song first and then decided it could use some vocals so I tried to match it the best I could.

Well you're probably going to want to put all your instruments in the same key as the vocal, if you're going to use it. 'Matching it the best you could' left something to be desired. You did a good job of creating a mood and a space for the song, but there's nothing in that space driving it around. I think the hole you tried to fill with the vocal might be better filled with a lead line or a bass or a piano or anything that isn't a pad.

I changed it a little bit and re-uploaded. I might try your suggestion of putting in a lead bass instead. I've only been producing a few months so I'm still a bit of a noob by the way.

This is a great basic. It just needs some additional synths to make it a whole. Start experimenting with some additional synths. Remove the low bass synths (or tweak the one and turn the volume up) and get some heavy ones in.
