Why do people like James Blake? I've tried to get into it, but at the end of the day he doesn't inspire any creativity or invoke any emotion in me. I've been playing in bands for 20 years now, so don't think I don't know about music when you respond.

just doesn't tickle your fancy i suppose. i can get into some of it, some of it i cant. also depends on the mood i am.

I was just wondering how things were going with the city icon. Do you have some tests I can see? If you have any time to deelop stop fire I have a list of assets and their functions ready now and I Should have floorplan layouts by the end of the day. Ina is currently working on the 3d assets so we should be able to test the look and feel of the game soon as well.

I mean I listen to the soundclouds of most the people on here and get much more enjoyment from it. Just kind of frustrating that half the people on here aren't as recognized as him. Not that I think he isn't talented in his own right, just not as talented as most people perceive him to be. (if that makes any sense) Incnic?

Disliking Bieber is entirely different than disliking James Blake imho. Justin Bieber is not a good singer > his songs are not creative nor are they original in any way.

He's doing something new, so it's always going to divide opinion, but that's one of the reasons he's been given enough attention to become quite a big thing. It always seems to me like he's clearly talented but just making the wrong sort of music, not really sure why he persists in trying to stay relevant to dubstep.

Best response I've heard so far. Not so sure about him doing something new though. I think that might be part of what I dislike about the guy tbh.

He has a reputation as being a classically trained musician which electronic music fans love because it reassures them that EDM is "real music."

I'm not missing the point though. No one gets defensive when skrillex gets bashed. Yet plenty of people come out of the woodwork's in defense of James. I want to understand why that is. I don't give a shit about either, I just want to understand their appeal to various peoples.

Whoa whoa whoa… slow down champ.

Now I’ve had my share of anti-james blake rants on here, but one thing I can say for sure as a producer is that he is talented beyond measure. The man is pure musician. Technically, and Musically. I’m all for saying you don’t like the sound… but leave his skills out of this. Man’s got chops.
