BELOW THE LINE @ The Green Door Store 12.06.12 / MY NU LENG/ TROY GUNNER/ MAJORA// FREE ENTRY
Below The Line is back with a summer showcase of new talent from the ever-expanding spectrum of UK Bass Music.

This time we will be taking over the delightfully stripped back space that is The Green Door Store, bringing down three fresh artists for their Brighton debut.

My Nu Leng - http://soundcloud.com/mynuleng

The London and Bristol based duo have been burrowing deep into the post -dubstep niche, carving out a unique sound that incorporates the swings and grooves of half step, combined with hybrid forms of house, 2 step and grime to create something thoroughly raw and dance floor driven.

Their next release is the third on one of our favourite new imprints: Lo Note UK, and it has been eagerly awaited for a while. Coming out with a remix from Last Japan, ‘Damp’ is set to do some serious damage this summer.

Troy Gunner - http://soundcloud.com/troygunner

Troy Gunner’s production is certainly turning a few ears at the moment and this Bath based producer has been pipped on more than a couple ‘one to watch' lists. From spaced out rollers to hyperactive soundscapes, Troy embraces experimental and artistic elements in his music whilst still keeping the club in mind. Following strong releases on Mindset and Phutureshock, his excellent new remix of Gang Colours’ ‘To Repel Ghosts’ will be released shortly on Browswood.

Since being snapped up to join the cutting edge crew at The Analogue Agency, Troy’s gig roster has been swiftly building; killing the dance from Bath to Leeds, from Notts to Brizzle, now it’s Brighton’s turn.

Majora - http://soundcloud.com/majoramusic

Aaaaah Majora. We really like this guy. He first caught our ear with ‘Shook’ a few months back, and it set the tone for his other production: stripped back belters that perfectly fuses the many elements of ‘Bass Music’ to deliver pure dancefloor devastation. From tight rolling percussion to the weightiest grinding bass, Majora’s not fucking about.

Having caught his sets on Rood FM we can vouch for his DJ capability and if you don’t take our word for it, check out the mix he’s just done for West London Bass Club. Release wise he’s already been catching heat with bits on Tumble Audio, Lo Note and Hot n Heavy and his forthcoming tracks are serious heaters as well. Check out his soundcloud, so very, very rowdy.

So really, the long and short of it is that this is going to be something a little bit special. We’ll also be showcasing a variety of visual talent with projections of suitably messed up animations and video edits setting the tone on the night.

Entry is free and with a spot of luck, you will be too.
Tuesday the 12th of June. No sleeping.
