While Halloween weekend prompts many party promoters to take the easy route and put together some kind of awfully titled, "spooktacular" event where the retro- and/or pop-cultured-themed costume contest gets more attention than the actual DJs, rest assured that Brooklyn's TURRBOTAX® crew doesn't go in for that sort of nonsense. The next edition of its monthly celebration of forward-thinking sounds might fall on October 28, but the highlights of the evening will remain the same as any other time of year: good tunes, good vibes, and free Asahi beer. This time around, Romanian producer Cosmin TRG—who now resides in Berlin and recently released his debut album, Simulat—will be headlining the festivities, undoubtedly dropping a slew of his bass-infused techno (or is it techno-infused bass?) on the TURRBOTAX® faithful. Of course, joining him will be TURRBOTAX® residents Contakt, Rem Koolhaus, C-Sick, Mayster, and Space Jam.
