Turntable advice

First, let me say that I am not a DJ and have no plans of becoming one.

However, I buy lots of vinyl and have generally listened to my records on a
old record player that I found at a thrift store 6 years ago. That player is having
some issues and I need to replace i t. I'm wondering if anyone could give suggestions
on turntables for people who are just listening to records. no mixing, etc.

It'd be much easier to find a record player at a thrift store, but I was wondering
if it's worth it to just buy a newer one which is more expensive.

Even if your not djing, I recommend a technics 1210mk2. Get an ortofon cartridge (Needle) and you will be set for around $250

It will last you a lifetime, and are widely know to be used inside of studios etc...

A Reloop would be just fine. Get a Ortofon needle though.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy hand me down turntables, they'll crap out on you faster than anything. I'd try and invest in some numarks or stantons but it really all depends, i mean if you're just using them to listen to vinyl and not scratching then go with some belt drive turntables.
