Hey all, I was wondering if anyone recognizes what sort of effect is being used on the intro to this track.

My first guess was that it was a Timestretch effect, but I'm not entirely sure. It sounds like it's being reversed.
I have a single, 8 bar midi note, that I'm trying various things with. I also tried converting the note to audio and am still trying a few things that way.
I'm using an instance of Massive with Ableton live, if that helps.
any and all insight is appreciated =)
cheers

Re: Bassnectar Timestretch Intro effect
The original sample is probably some synth timestretched, LFO over the top, bitcrushed to god almighty. Can't really hear much else than that.

Re: Bassnectar Timestretch Intro effect
To me it sounds like he took a 1/4 note in a synth, repeated it over and over with a fast attack, short delay, and no sustain, then bounced it down to audio, then reversed the audio clips...if that makes sense. Thats how I would do it.

Re: Bassnectar Timestretch Intro effect
Hey guys, Thanks for the input!
After fiddling around and also trying out some of your suggestions, I think I found a way to get a pretty similar sound as to the one in Bassnectar's Intro.
I made some quarter notes as you suggested, and converted them to an audio clip and reversed it. Then I used Ableton Live 8's Auto Pan feature (Audio Effects) to morph the sound.
Going to try out some bit crushing and other stuff to fine tune it.
Thanks again, Cheers =)
