JUST THOUGHT I'D START ANOTHER NON-CLICHE WOBBLE THREAD BECAUSE I GET PISSED OFF EVERYTIME I SEE ONE LIKE HELP ME SOUND LIKE SKRILLEX OR ONE THAT'S LIKE HELP ME MAKE THIS EXTREMELY UNPLEASENT BUZZY BASS THAT I HEARD IN SOME SHITSTEP TUNE! THIS THREAD IS MADE TO HELP OTHERS SYNTHESIZE THE NEW BREED OF SLUDGEY, SLOPPY WOBBLES LIKE ANTIKZ, BENZMIXER, DOOMTROOPER, VYLEX, REQUAKE, BADKLATT, KROMESTAR, THE ALIENS, FABLE, ETC....


DOES ANYONE HAVE AN IDEA ON HOW TO MAKE WOBS LIKE THESE... I ASSUME THAT ITS ENV-CUTOFF PLUS VELOCITY AND MAYBE BP INSTEAD OF LP OR A BLEND OF THE TWO WITH HIGH RESO BUT I DONT KNOW IF THERES A KEY FOLLOW ON THE RESO OR VELOCITY OR WHAT THE FUCK. THESE ARE SOME REALLY GOOD, SUPER OLDSKOOL BADMAN TYPE SOUNDS AND I SUGGEST THAT WE COLLECTIVELY FIGURE THESE OUT BECAUSE IT WILL BENEFIT US ALL! ITS THIS WEIRD KNOCKY TYPE BASS SOUND.

I thought about just asking doomtrooper on aim but i dont want him to freak out thinking that im just trying to jock his swag. Ive gotten a close sound in Zebra2 and also with FAW Cicle but I pretty much have most plugins everyone else has (massive, albino. predator, etc...) Kinda reminds me of some old Others or some shit from that golden age and I wanna bring it back because I'm so tired of hearing the same buzzy, modern talking nonsense that everyone seems to be on. I will truly appreciate help with this and will gladly give you a pack of really fire originals and other "dungeoney" type tunes that I'm sure few people have but need to hear

I think the "Help me make this dungeon sound" thread is already about this kind of stuff. Sounds kind of dungeon to me anyway..

Albinos a good one to use, its my go to synth to get reasonably grimey wobs. check my wip detest on my soundcloud, they aint great but they do the job. a big tip would be use Envelopes as opposed to LFOs to get the wobble, so each hit of a key is one 'wob' if you get me. cant stress enough how much better it sounds if you use envelopes.

DR. Blood Nugget recommended to me to use a notch filter combined with amplitude routed to LFO for the wobble. I've started a couple of patches with this in mind and things have turned out awesome. Try sending the Frequency of the notch filter to an LFO too for some interesting results.
