Slime Recordings reaches it's 23rd release, and with it we welcome to the world the undeniable talents of a young producer by the name of Made. Merging the melancholy with the euphoric, his style encompasses garage, R&B, dubstep, house with a sly pop sensibility that will fill floors and break hearts.
"Like Us" starts proceedings with a sense of serious intent. Glittering chords and spiralling percussion collide with harmonising R&B vocals before dropping into a sprawling bassline. Rolling beats ride the rhythm higher as the bittersweet melody warms your soul, a beam of pure sunshine in a rave.
"That I Need" expands the parameters of the former to build beautiful orchestral chords over bubbling drums. Keys warp out of the main melody with the manic flavour of P-Funk, as diva vocals interwtine with uplifting piano for a heads-down hands-up peaktime garage banger.
"You're Sorry" brings an ambient sensibility to a skittering garage beat with submerged ethereal vocals providing a strangely haunting listening experience, perfect for that strange hinterland between club and comedown.
"Fantasy" opens into the sound of a rainstorm before sublime soft chords roll around the beat with a narcotic blur. Yearning vocals float through the melody, driving the track home into your heart forever.
