I heard him play in real time finally on Saturday...
He basically smashed my head in about 15 different ways...

I knew dude was hardcore...I even had an idea that he maybe diabolical..

but when he threw out the multiple rubberband man tracks...
and then ran some of the stupidist b-boy rhythms ever...

he like - beat the concert going out of those kids and took it fully back to rave...

definatly looking forward to the next 10 years of stuff from the hyperdub camp...

What to say about this set... It was woeful. The first half of the set was very good, some nice grime riddims and some nice UK funky. The second half was terrible. Shit mixing, shit tracks. He teased like 4 good songs,(town called obsolute and a few more) for literally about 40 seconds before he cut them out. Lots of high pitched "brostep" or whatever the fuck its called, towards the end, along with a few shitty remixes of Jungle anthems(Adam F - Circles for example). Samurai drop wasnt even that good, he had some tripe over it before he drown out Samurai . :x

At least It was free.

"Lots of brostep" is an overstatement. It was one song. Sorry ragers

I had a great night as did everyone else I spoke to, he did some unusual stuff the Warren G Nate Dogg thing towards the end he also dropped Out in the Streets VIP which the poster above may have mixed up with some shitty jungle remix I guess.

Didn't consider any of it bro at all unless poster above considered Goth-Trad bro?

such a talented, well seasoned DJ. Expect the unexpected, prey for an unreleased Burial work in progress, have fun regardless.

Surely not that bad overall then if as you say the first half was v good and you got in for free. You sure it wasn't just some tearout stuff, not actual brostep?

here's an analogy..cookie dough

Kode 9 was not using extra-fine caster sugar and blending until completely smooth

He was doing big chocolate chunks with a splash of high quality vanilla, oats folded rough

I like both - but the intensity of the second batch was a tribute to those things in their state raw

If you want dude to stay in his house all day and do nothing but streamline record sets...
then you're gonna have to pay alot more for the night.

I think Skream does brostep better than the bros...

and I think he needs to be there to get his money...

I'm sure we will hear his soul again...
after the big monster wave with his name on it has passed.
