Basically, I was halfway through making a song that i spent atleast 8 hours on, and idiotically, I forgot to save it. Then my laptop decides to crash and I lost it all. Any way I can recover it? Thanks for help guys, btw I use FL Studio.

I'm not sure if pc have it but try and go back in time on your computer. Mac has time machine so if there is a similar program to that on pc i reckon you should try that and go back to the time that you think you started the track at. Careful not to go to far back tho or it could bring you into the stone ages or some shit.

If you didnt get prompted to recover it when FL opened, and there are no projects with wierd names what magically appeared in your 'projects' folder in the image-line directory, your probably s.o.l. unfortunately.

If you are using a version below 10 you wont be able to get it back. If you are using 10, open up FL studio, click file, revert to last backup. Or the alternative is go to program files (x86 if you are running 64 bit windows)\Image-Line\FL Studio 10\Data\Backup.

Remember to ALWAYS SAVE every so often in your work, regardless of autosave function. FL studio can be a bit wobbly especially when loading corrupt vsts. Hope this sorts out your problem

If you're not using 10 then you're missing out to be honest. The autosave feature has already saved my ass a couple times, and I would upgrade just for that.

know this feeling - i use cubase and ctrl+s is like an instinct now. i save often, usually everytime i make a positive change to a project. i also have cubase set to make backups every 15 minutes, although this sometimes isn't enough when working on a long project. but anyhow, 8 hours with no save? lesson learnt.
