Thanks.

sounds good, but you should change it up and bring back the intro it kind of drags on after a while.

Exactly! I'll comment on the mix after I get a chance to listen again

in regards to the mix, the snare needs to be much louder, did you layer the snare? because i typically use 4-5 snares and EQ the shit out of all of them. the shakers need to be a little bit louder. your bass noises sound good but the yuh's could use more bass underneath.

hope this helps :)

hmm nope i didn't layer them.. i'll try to mess with 4-5 like you said!
what about the use of claps? do you use them too??

also another question about headroom.. i made sure there was no clipping but i had most go to 0db... later on i read that the kick should be around -8 to -10, sub bass a little under, and the pads and such even lower around -18... should i just put a limiter on each of the synths to get somewhere in that range??

thanks again for all your help man.

oh yeah claps, and white noise.

and no, i would steer away from limiters as much as possible use maximizers and compressors :) but don't overdo it.

confession: i used to use compressors all the time, without knowing that i didn't need to use them at times. so i would be applying comps to sounds that wouldn't need compression at all - try not to do this. but i would try compressing sounds just to see how they react to compression to see if you really need to use it.
