Traktor timecode vinyl recording

Post by 2manynoobs » Sun Nov 06, 2011 10:24 pm

I've been searching and searching but it seems that's there's no recording to be found..

I'm running tests to see whether of not my audio interface is compatible with the traktor software but I first need the traktor timecode audio..

Anyone that can help me out? I would be thankful

Wouldn't it say on the Traktor website? Like a list of all compatible products?

Alternatively google Timecode Traktor Pro mp3? Would link to it but that might be against the rul3zz

lol it's just a 2 khz tone

but it doesn't work.. apparantly the compatible interfaces modulate the initial 2khz tone in a unique way which makes it impossible for normal soundcards to work with it.. off to virtual dj then I guess

look for a .iso of the CD on pirate sites. don't feel guilty about the possibility that that's theft! you can then burn that on a CD and rip it to WAV or just mount the CD on a virtual drive and get a wav.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=trakto ... .osb&cad=b

good luck. I'm not entirely convinced by what 2manynoobs has said above because before i bought traktor i found i could control 1 virtual deck through my builtin soundcard. it was of course glitchy and useless but you may well find that any 2-input soundcard is fine.

I'm not sure but I think you need the actual NI interface.

actually it's nothing to do with whether the hardware can "recognise" the timecode signal. if you don't have a scratch-certified soundcard then the traktor software won't show the scratch controls to begin with. same with serato. the soundcard works like a timecode dongle.

in practice that means you need an audio 4 or 8, traktor audio 6 or 10, a kontrol s4 or one of the scratch-certified mixers with built-in soundcards (djm900 etc) in order to use timecode. AFAIK if you don't want timecode control then you can use whatever you like.
