went through this. it'll pass and you won't really benefit in switching. just a waste of money IMO

The only true answer is Reaper.

If you have been producing for a year, your probably use less than 1/4 of what FL can do.jrisreal wrote:went through this. it'll pass and you won't really benefit in switching. just a waste of money IMO
If you must switch, use DubTurbo.

Why do you feel you've gotten tired of using FL Studio?
If you feel you know the program inside and out, but you also feel like you're unable to accomplish what you want to and your tracks aren't benefiting from this setup, then research online what you feel you're missing and select a different DAW. That way you're getting what you think you're missing and the switch will be progressive, though it will take some time to familiarize yourself with a new program.
Patience is key for both scenarios.

I felt like this a few years ago - it was at a time when I was frustrated with my progress and at a time when people thought it was cool to bag FL as being a toy. So naturally I wanted to progress and also to be taken seriously so I got a copy of Cubase. Trying to learn a new program was like having my hands tied behind my back, especially because of lack of youtube and because I didn't know what I wanted from it - I just had this nebulous idea that Cubase was better, and as a result I would make better tracks. After wasting about a month of time, I went back to FL. I realised that firstly I did not know how to use a huge range of features effectively (a whole pile I didn't even know were there), and that it was up to me as an artist to progress not up to the program. I'm still finding stuff out too, going off the beaten track and discovering new things. Really, as Rhyder said, if you don't know why you are tired of it and why another program would sort that out, you may just waste your time.

Reaper is extremely similar to Cubase and pretty similar to Logic. It's ridiculously affordable, and the trial will work uncrippled until you decide to buy it or delete it. Try to make some stuff in there to see if you enjoy that type of workflow.

look at some tutorial videos of a few other daws, some screen shots.
then get a trial of what appeals to you most, play with it for a week or two.
go back to fl, see what you can work with better.
i started on fl for like 6 months, then moved to Propellerheads Reason.

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

I disagree with the people who disagree... Not because I love FL studio... But if you know the ins and outs of a system completely, switching to something you don't know can only be counter productive for the most part. Your work flow will suffer and your frustrtion will increase ten fold. Doesn't sound like a good deal to me in fairness.
Abstrakt.

Unless the new workflow suits the user more than the old one...
