Careful with how many snare hits you are putting in there with out space between them, made it kinda hard to find the beat and get that head bobbing that dubstep is known for. Sick basslines though for sure!!

haha yeah the snares I put together makes a nasty over-distorted sound. I need to clean it up and get a low, mid, high. But right now I'm lazy and just slapped on 2 highs and a mid. I'll fix it though! Really good that you noticed that.

How did you get that tone that kind of studders and has that upward pitch bend at 1:05 - 1:07? I hear stuff like that but can't really figure out, did you just use automation or it is a plugin? And by they way, good work on the track. I'd say maybe you should bring the main basses out a little more, but it sounds great so far.

Just noticed you were talking about the snare hits in general. Well I guess this is drumstep? I don't know. I think it's fine.

Well I found something out on my own that does that. I'm afraid if I give it away then everyone will start doing it. But I can say you could probably use dBlueglitch to do what I did with those upward studder pitch bends.

Thanks. You really think I should bring the basses out more?

Yeah I think I have good concepts/ideas but I fucking suck at mixing. Someone should help me with EQ'ing/Compression/Whatever. Everyone's shit always sounds so clean and crisp. Using FL Studio doesn't help either.

Not necessarily, I'd try to make them less busy and thick. Maybe have more space and silence, and I think that may make the basses stand out without fucking over your drums.

EDIT: Can't really give it a good listen because I'm in class :P

Theres nothing wrong with FL studio loads of top notch producers use it....

Go out and learn about it all yourself its the best way....

I would suggest that you get you head around frequencies more than anything...

That bass is way way way to load and distorted and its destroying all the room for
everything else....remember just because you have FL open doesnt mean you have
to make a track sit there and get you head around the basics like eq'ing and everything you have mentioned

Well I have ableton and there are some default vst's on there that are useful for EQ'ing and junk compared to FL Studio's. Yeah it is hella distorted and too loud. I'm working on it though.

There is a learning process, I'm 8 songs in and still trying to figure things out about mixing and EQing. Though I learn more every song. Look up Dodge and Fuski production tutorials those helped me a lot with drums and basslines. Other than that look up tutorials for FL Studio, it's what I use and I'd like to think my songs are of a decent standard.

Yeah this is technically my 2nd song I'll be close to finishing. I have a tons of mess-around tracks that are all a quarter-way done and that's because I usually just mess around and learn from that. Hopefully soon I'll be at that level where I can just throw out tracks that I made in a few hours with it still being "quality" tracks. But as of now everything I do is learning while making tracks. SO that SAID....this took me about 20+ hours roughly to make that it from the start to the 3rd version.......lol.

But hell yeah. I'm going to watch this videos right now! Thanks for telling me about that....they are up-to-date also! :4:

I just came too an conclusion...I think I should add some synths(lead) in the backround for the main parts. Do you think so? I'm gonna try and figure it out.

I also have a ton of projects I started and never finished, don't forget to listen to them from time to time to steal the parts you still like from them and use them in other tracks. When I was starting out I often would make a cool riff and then try to make a bunch of stuff around it, while the stuff around it wasn't great the riff still was cool.
