The 'Pushing the Scene' ethnographic videography on the electronic music culture of dubstep by Joel Hietanen (Aalto University), Joonas Rokka (Rouen Business School) and Risto Roman (Helsinki University) received the Judge's Choice Award in the Association for Consumer Research conference (ACR2011) in St. Louis, MO, USA.

We wish to thank all the participants and the MediaMark (aaltomediamark.org) initiative for support!

that was really awesome. thought it was really interesting how there was more of a focus on how the scene has changed due to technology and whatever. makes me wish that i was about 5 years older so i'd have had money to go down to the record shops when it was the norm and everyone else did it, i really resent the internet music culture and think im much more suited to the old ways! dammit!

hats off! i wasn't expecting that tbh! very interesting and nicely done :4: some important points raised too, especially about the relationship between music and the rise of the internet / digital technology, and also about the current culture of people basically not caring. it's something that i'm always banging on about so i'm looking forward to sharing this video with a few people.
big up your chest! :Q:

Fuck yeaa, I'm gonna make a bomb shelter so my beats will be solid.

I'll get a couple years worth of diesel and generators so if we have an apocalypse I can still listen to good music.
