Hi,
I've just bought a "Numark DM2050 3 Channel Mixer". I'm looking to hook this up to my Windows Vista laptop to use with Virtual DJ.
What cables do I need, and where do I plug these in?
Cheers for your help!

You need a sound car with at least 2 stereo outputs, 3 if you want to use all 3 mixing channels, or 4 if you want to use the cue on your mixer. And then depending on the sound card you get you either want rca cables(red and white) or TRS (quarter inch guitar plugs).

I don't think numark makes a control surface that is compatible with the Virtual DJ software. i don't know if anyone does. afaik vDj is kind of just a toy. you would need to route actual decks, be they cdj's or turntables, into that mixer.

You can use virtual dj with out a control surface, but your right it is a toy. I don't think you can assing a bpm to a song manually and it has a really hard time finding the correct bpm of anything that isnt a 4 on the floor beat. I used virtual dj with the timecoded vinyl years back and I upgraded to traktor very quickly.-[2]DAY_- wrote:I don't think numark makes a control surface that is compatible with the Virtual DJ software. i don't know if anyone does. afaik vDj is kind of just a toy. you would need to route actual decks, be they cdj's or turntables, into that mixer.
Once my friend whos been dicking around on virtual dj for way too long tried to convince me that I shouldn't be using ableton for djing since its "too complicated" and I should go back to djing with real dj software. But he also doesnt realize that all of the songs vdj lists as 160 bpm are not correct
