That flange sound?

Post by DevonDevine » Sun Nov 20, 2011 9:04 pm

Hey guys im using maschine software and hardware. trying to get that flange effect sound that builds up before drops. i cant think of an example. it sounds like a wave effect panning from one side to another. ive searched the forums for "flange effect" etc. Im not new to maschine i know how to use flange. Is there a certain trick with combining effects? Rap/hip hop producers use this too. thanks guys! :4:

awesome right? it sounds ignorant. but if you know what sound im talking about youll find its more complex then something to chuckle at. i can not just simply make it with flange effect alone. there needs to be something polarizing it

hard to know what you're on about with no example, are you sure you're not just talking about a white noise riser ? ?

You may get some sort of answer in the production forum mate if you post an example video. Or you may get flamed the fuck out of. But you've more chance of an answer there. Good luck with your flanging

you need a noise oscilator generating white noise, pretty much any synth can do this, then just route it through a filter (lowpass, hipass, bandpass) with the resonance turned up and rise the frequency
