Wtf is this ringing sound?
I have no idea why, but in my DAW when I listen to this beat there is no ringing, but after I export and listen, this noise appears. Seems to be coming from the sub...(1.33min)
Soundcloud
Any ideas why this is happening and if I can stop it? =/
any help much appreaciated, cheers
EDIT: It's a WAV Exported at 44100hz, 16 bit depth, dithered.

Re: Wtf is this ringing sound?
maybe, try knocking your sub down an octave. how are you exporting from your daw?

Dunno if ringing is the right word...
It kinda sounds like this:
But more 'subtle'... and it corrilates with the sub notes...
It's fairly quiet but it's driving me nuts

I'm pretty sure it's just quality loss when uploading to soundcloud. I have the same problem, but only when I upload stuff to soundcloud, and it's only noticeable when just the sub is kicking (usually I have midrange that covers it up). But yeah, if you're talking about what I'm talking about, your track should be fine, it's just a quality loss issue, and shouldn't affect any track you export in high quality resolution.
Re: Wtf is this ringing sound?
I don't hear it. But that tune is wicked.
My name is Dom and I like making ambientish music and drinking tea. Nice to meet you.

Well mate I just listened to the tune in your sig and I'm hearing exactly the same noise over your sub also.cmgoodman1226 wrote:I'm pretty sure it's just quality loss when uploading to soundcloud. I'm guessing your right here. I'm starting to hear it on other subs on SC now aswell, guess I'll have to live with it.
Cheers all
Re: Wtf is this ringing sound?
just saying... i like this track alot lol
Re: Wtf is this ringing sound?
don't hear it myself but as soundcloud converts everything to 128k mp3 quality, i've often noticed in some of my more sub-heavy tracks that the sub bass is kind of farty and shit sounding, with some weird kind of distortion. Not a ringing though. You could try converting your own 128k mp3 version before uploading and see if that fixes it if it's a problem with souncloud's conversion. Awesome track btw!

Re: Wtf is this ringing sound?
Are you lowpassing you sub? Make sure you EQ it to cut out any frequency above 100-120 hz, or lower if you like. I have had the same sound when not lowpassing
Re: Wtf is this ringing sound?
I hear it, it sounds like a high-pitched layer of the sub, might be a filecompression problem? Try do the phase-shift trick with the tune in the daw and with the bounced one, see whats left (As in, have a track that plays the .wav along with the raw files in the daw but phaseinversed)
Burial isnt dubstep, fuck off.
