External Audio interface help

Post by outdropt » Mon Nov 28, 2011 9:48 pm

Its been asked before but i never got a solid answer. I am running behringer Truth b2031active monitors, and i need a solid audio interface. Something affordable, with a mic input, 2 quarter inch jack outputs, and two xlr outputs. My main concern is with background noise, i want something crisp. I looked at the Novation NIO and it seems okay but i have no need for all the inputs and outputs. Budget is under $150, new or used.

If you can stretch to an extra $30 or so, I'd really recommend the Focusrite Saffire Pro 14. You can get one used for way in your budget though.

I haven't used one for a while, but I remember it being pretty solid on Mac (not sure what the drivers are like on PC), and the sound quality was very clean. The mic and line inputs were great too compared to other budget interfaces. It only has one headphone jack though, so if you need two headphones hooked up you'll need to get a splitter.

Oh yeah it also comes with Focusrite EQs and compressor plugins which I remember being pretty good!
