NI Solid Mix Series

Post by sinister87 » Tue Nov 29, 2011 7:17 pm

Looking to purchase an eq/compression package. I noticed that NI offers the solid mix series, wanted to know if anyone on DSF has tried it and can provide a review. Cheers!

I wouldn't due to the fact you have to host them in guitar rig... I can recommend an amazing comp:- Elysia Mpressor

What exactly is the downfall of hosting within guitar rig? Also, a recommendation on a solid EQ would be appreciated.

Guitar rig is a cpu resource hog

fabfilter has excellent eq with pre/post spectrum analysis
And their compressor and limiters are really good as well

+1 for psp compressors :) I actually find using waves c6 to be the best for EQ and compression, gives you a very useful solo function and also gives a nice warmth to anything it EQ's. If your looking at getting the NI stuff, make sure your CPU is fucking good. I wouldn't really attempt it without a proper production pc or possibly a well kept mac
