There's a meme going round the dubstep messageboards. "Dubstep, it used to be like this," it says above a picture of about 10 blokes wearing winter coats, staring studiously at another bloke adjusting a mixer, "now it's like this." Underneath, there's a picture of six American teenage girls with their tongues out wearing glowstick glasses, fishnet tights and crop tops with bits cut across the chest to show off their neon bras.

Something I don't think a single person could label Skream as with the sheer number of tunes he's made. Perhaps it is this paranoia that fuels his admirable work rate.

Though quite possibly the author rather than Skream. His comments later on about Skrillex and the Dubstep Music Awards sound like those of someone who has been on this forum.

I hate the fact that people who listened to me from '02 to '06 now feel that I've lost it.

Something to bear in mind for those who think he doesn't give a shit about the scene.

If a dubstep awards ceremony happens in a warehouse in Birmingham but no actual dubstep DJs show up to it, does it make a sound? Er, yes. But in this case, the sound was of 4,000 glowstick-waving ravers riding around on dodgems to the sounds of wompy wompy bro-step like Flux Pavilion. Same time next year? Probably not.

well... respect to the man for working his ass off to feed his family. honestly, after all that's what we're here for in this world and he's found a way to do it that makes countless people around the globe happy.

but in order to do that he's turned his back on us 'oldschool fans' to cater to a new audience that provides him with enough money to feed his family. so why get all worked up when we turn away from him? he can't expect me to like his new tunes just cause he's got a son now.

edit: and i mean, i'm not even one of the oldschool heads. 02-06 i didnt even know what garage was

I havent turned my back on anyone, I thought people would have realised that when I pushed for tracks like 'Exothermic Reaction''Phatty Drummer' and 'Abstruse' to be released....

People can think what they like about me/my music, that's there/your opinion.....

I say it time and time again I have always made all styles of Dubstep/Bass music, as most of you know... It's impossible for me to make everyone like everything...

All I can say is there's gonna be more Deeper stuff,more techy stuff,more tear out stuff and more songs coming from my studio as there has always been.......Keep em peeled



Anyway, massive shout's to my fan's old and new I got so much love for all of ya...

I havent turned my back on anyone, I thought people would have realised that when I pushed for tracks like 'Exothermic Reaction''Phatty Drummer' and 'Abstruse' to be released....

People can think what they like about me/my music, that's there/your opinion.....

I say it time and time again I have always made all styles of Dubstep/Bass music, as most of you know... It's impossible for me to make everyone like everything...

All I can say is there's gonna be more Deeper stuff,more techy stuff,more tear out stuff and more songs coming from my studio as there has always been.......Keep em peeled



Anyway, massive shout's to my fan's old and new I got so much love for all of ya...

You can't really say he's turned his back on his fans when he still puts out tunes like Phatty Drummer, Exothermic Reaction and some of those tunes on Skreamizm 6. He's still involved in this forum and interacts with fans, old and new alike, on facebook and twitter too, as well as often talking about going in to the studio to make dark and gritty tunes.

he should actually be proud so many people have got so worked up that he has 'turned his back on them', in a round about way it shows how much 'they' cared about his music. People only slate him because they want him to 'come back' lol if you get what i mean
