I am trying to figure out how to dj live with ableton and have the original mix come out of my headphones and the mix that everyone hears come out of the main output. I do not have any soundcards or audio interfaces but i do have a Beringer mixer. Is it possible to use the mixer in place of the soundcard? If so, how?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Simple answer is no you cant do what you want with out an audio interace.

That said you could use a 1/8" mini stereo jack to rca adpater and then run two tracks in ableton in MONO and send track 1 to the left master and track 2 to right master thus creating two MONO tracks you could patch inot your mixer and then use the mixer to create a QUE mix/send and use the faders to mix the tracks like a normal dj just everything will have to be in MONO and that can create some issues im sure... phasing and such.
