Was thinking of buying some monitors for christmas, don't wanna spend hundreds on them though.

Can someone help me out do a little research and tell me about these 'Prodipe POD3' would they be decent for producing? Obviously their not gunna be amazing but I love the fact you just shove your ipod in the top

What are they like for producing dubstep?

The frequency response is from 70hz and that not as low as most of the bass being used in music, help me out I havnt got a f'in clue

you want monitors, not speakers. you're not going to get monitors w/o spending hundreds. used m-audio or behringer truths, maybe even rock-its would be youre cheapest best bet

I was thinking about rock-its but the thought of spending 350 quid on something that just plays music makes me wanna cry.

Wouldnt them ones i said even be decent to produce with? There easy to move around aswell take them downstairs for partys and stuff so I might just go with them

Monitors give a flat response, that's what you want for production.

As a general rule I stay away from anything with an ipod dock. As for monitors you get what you pay for really, id look at second hand rokits or maybe find a bargain on some adams if your really lucky

Not the best when it comes to sound quality though. Great prices though.
When I'm getting my monitors it's gonna be either Rockit, Mackie or Adam. Headphones
work quite well though.

Got a cheap pair of Behringer MS-40's here, little bit of fiddling on my EQ and all nice and flat.
Works fine as long as you put the effort in.

I got Behringer Thruth 2031A's for my first monitors. Actually first I was going for Adam AX7, but I got my used B's (3 monitors) for 150e, so I changed my mind. These are actually quite decent and so far im satisfied. I've also heard good things about b2031A's from many ppl. Dont know the quality of other Behringer monitors..
ps. these go quite low too, in the monitor it says 50hz, but I can hear very well down to 40hz, after that it starts to lose gain tho

you can HEAR 40hz? damn, you sure they're working properly? i can't hear fuck all except driver/desk rattle at 40hz

It's more of sensing the vibration than hearing a tone, but on the other hand add enough dB/Volume suppose you could hear 40Hz easilly.
