Gotta say, I like 1,2 and 3 equally. I tend to ignore the 4th though.

They're all good for so many different reasons.

Each sequel got slightly worse for me. Original was definately the best.
I'll still watch ressurection but its not on the same level as the others

predator.

I voted for Alien. It's a completely different genre of film to the sequels, it's an outright horror whereas the sequels are action films. Don't get me wrong I've got a lot of love for Aliens but the suspense that is constantly present in the first one puts it on another level.

The original alien film came out years before predator did .

Alien 3 was not an action film, and had lots of parallels to the first.

Aliens. Newt was sexy.

The directors cut of 3 does improve it drastically.

First one. It's just so well done. Everything looks amazing. It builds so much atmosphere. The tension side works. The action side works. The horror side works.

It's also got one of the best soundtracks to any film of all time.

Voted Alien as well. The first two are my favorites of the four but Alien definitely stands out because the second is "merely" a very well done action movie, whereas the first is all about the horror and suspense, also the amazing soundtrack builds such incredible tension. A lot of it is so subtle, and it still keeps me on the edge of my seat in 2011. Not a lot of films that old can do that.

Ok yeah, I guess it was a bit harsh to just call it an action movie. And yes, it's a fantastic movie. I just think I feel like the first one appeals more to me when I watch them today, and it feels more fresh than the others

Alien

By far the best of the four. Wonderful film. The discovery of the derelict on LV-426 is one of the best moments in film. Always loved that you never got any background information or found out anything about it. It was just there...

It's also got the best trailer I've ever seen.



Aliens is wicked too but, like people have already said, it's a very different film. The alien went from being an unstoppable force to an insect.

Still better than most in the space horror genre but the worst of the franchise.
