What are Caspa sets like now a days?

Post by KaveDizzle » Mon Dec 26, 2011 7:27 am

He is playing in my city in two days, I don't mind the more aggressive sound s of dubstep that dub police label usually puts out . I just don't want to pay money to listen to bro step the whole time.
Try my luck, or pass? the tickets are $30.

Does that sum up his sets or that he plays a few bad tunes?

last time i saw caspa play it was with benga and hudmo abt a year and a half ago it really wasnt that bad. set was all vinyl and dubplates which i appreciated greatly... mixing was aight and he played a lot of bad tearout but i danced my ass off and had a great time. dropped a few of his classics too. 30$ is steep tho.

who else is on the bill? They might influence what he plays e.g. if they're main bro djs he'll probably play along with that style, nahmean?

He's ditched the dubs and plays from USB sticks on CDJ2000's.

This is definitely true but it seems totally backwards to me... doesn't anyone believe that the audience might actually want variety
Maybe they'll realize when the rooms empty out

When I saw him he played some "bro"ish stuff but really wasn't that bad, got a lot of 4x4 type stuff which I think actually sounds a lot better than the tearout halfstep. Not the best thing I've ever seen but I enjoyed parts of it.

Ive seen him a few times.. usually on the same bill as David Rodigan so i guess that influences his song choice. Hes always played a solid set when i've seen him but really depends who else is on the bill like people have said as well as how often you get to see live DJs and how much choice you have where you live. Personally i wouldn't pay anymore than £5 to see one DJ.

regardless of his tune selection, he simply doesn't mix any more so if it's 30$ just for him, I wouldnae bother... (last time I saw him was also in the summer by the way.)

Echo these statements. Also Caspa announced about a year ago that he was no longer mixing with vinyl, he said he respects all those using vinyl and all that shit but there was just too many problems and now hes going to be strictly CDJ... so despite the flyer picture i'd be very surprised if he was gunna be mixing vinyl.
