[Reason tutorial] Vocoded Dubstep Bass

Post by hennoxlane » Fri Dec 30, 2011 3:42 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm a new member of this forum; have gotten some great production information out of it, so I thought I'd contribute something of my own. :)

When I was fiddling around in Reason with ways to create dubstep voice-y synths, I thought of a way that turned out to be quite interesting.
In this tutorial, I'll talk you through the process of using a vocoder for creating those vocal synth sounds.

Check it out, I hope it's useful!

pretty cool man thanks

btw what do you usually set up in the matrix besides pos to automate the different formants and such?

btw you can get sounds just like that by using malstrom and the throat osc and modulate the index to get the different formants. but you probably have more flexibility and wilder results doing it your way.
