why are people still hating it?

I mean surely, it's just another instrument.

do you hate delay because it's not REALLY echoing? do you hate reverb because there's not REAL reverberations?

so basically the only problem with autotune is the saturation of the market by people who don't know how to use it?

it sounds great when used right, like a vocoder but just a bit different, sometimes its mega subtle and really lovely

It's not autotune in general that I hate, just autotune used distastefully. This will always be a banger in my eyes:

DO YOU BELIEEEEEEEVE IN LIFE AFTER LOVE

its worse when they arent using it for the ghey effect, just to make the vocal actually in tune, but you can clearly hear it working!

I think a lot of the original hate towards autotune was how even ppl who had no singing ability could now become decent vocalists. I personally don't find it interesting even as a creative effect, except when used on dogs barking and babies crying...and even that got played out.
