Enjoyed the metal sounds mixed with the tune! I did a podcast featuring heavy metal sounds (probably improper to share here, but i'll do it anyway: http://ublf.libsyn.com/webpage/dubstep- ... eavy-metal) and this tune would have fit in quite nicely with it.

Keep up the head bangers!

Heavy metal has some offkey riff changes. This is kinda flat... the metal part anyway. The dubstep part... dunno, I can't really say, im new

You know, I really enjoyed that. It's great to see inspirations from 2 genres mixed together.

I'm funny about feedback because every mans opinion is different and I believe people should make what sounds good to them and the world should enjoy it. Of course, dynamics and mixing feedback is acceptable. Enough babbling.

I enjoyed it. I would play it in a set. So that's all that counts.

I'd look forward to hearing some more of this type of music from you. Are you from the metal scene at all?

i like the drops at 1:30 and 3:13 although i'd maybe like the kick and snare to sting my ears a bit more. don't over do it though. i'm not too keen on some of the other bits which i would say are a bit wishy washy for this kind of track, but thats just me. the bit at 4:48 breaks down a bit abruptly, and could maybe do with making a smother transition. nice work.

The Emperor by Truth and Decoda and Tsar by Brainpain are a couple of really good metal/dubstep tracks.. have a listen.

Brostep takes its roots from metal/modern hardcore, so let's see how this goes...

Nice deep sub, always good.

As a hardcore producer, this is a bit odd. Straight sampled sounding double kicks and snares sound a little odd. The kick is also sitting a bit strangely in the mix. It sounds like someone has recorded the kick over the song in a room. It also sounds like a sample. Double kicks need to vary to sound natural. I use Toontrack EZX and layer a doublekick bounce from that over samples to get a natural sound. I also use it for pretty much all acoustic drums. I recommend it thoroughly.

The distortion has a lot of fizz going on. If it's emulating guitars, you want it to have beef in the lower mids/upper bass and lower treble regions. My best bit of advice for mixing distorted midrange is less distortion is 99% of the time, a better option. It always ends up mixing better when all the elements are together.

To emulate the attack of a guitar, have a very fast attack, medium-fast decay and 80-90% sustain, something like that. You want it to punch on the note. Alternatively, just use guitars. The amp modelling these days is wonderful. Amplitube 3 and an Orange Rockerverb 50W model goes a loooooong way.

I strongly suggest listening to some The Devil Wears Prada or Parkway drive or Oh! Sleeper or something to get a feel for how the kick and guitars should coincide on a breakdown. Big Wiggly Style and Danger: Wildman by The Devil Wears Prada in particular have a really good guitar/bass relationship. The idea is getting the guitars on the left and right, kick and bass centre, getting them all to mesh, and having a really visceral, punchy sound.

Keep working at it! Sorry for the lengthy feedback, I'm a hardcore/post hardcore/metal guy originally and a guitarist at heart so I'm picky when it comes to metal.
