Automating Exciter on Sub Bass?

Hey guys, I've been messing around with a track recently. I've been trying to get that rising wobble sound that D1 uses in Skream - Warning (D1 Remix) or ASBO - ASBO1
I start out with plain sub bass at F3, EQ'd and Filtered.I add the Exciter in with one of the bands set from 0hz to 70hz and begin going from Dry to Wet.

It sort of works at replicating the sound, but I have a feeling there's a better way to do this. Discuss!
Large up DSF :w:

f3 = 174.614hz... that is in no way a sub.

'Plain', you mean regular sine wave?

EQ'd and fitlered... For one, those are the same thing, two, eqing a sine wave does nothing because a sine is a single frequency, and once you hit that frequency, the eq becomes a volume, in proportion to its db per octave.

Exciter = harmonic distortion... there is nothing wrong with automating distortion. Do it.

Hey I came back and realized how dumb that all sounded. I forgot that I plotted it at F3 with my synth dropped -24 semitones hahaha!
Are there any better exciters out there? I just bought this software package since it had a vast amount of tools, didn't know if the Exciter was any good.
