The NBA thread

I know some of you are into basketball. Thought I'd create this thread.

Question to get going: The Heat entered the season as one of the big favourites, now it doesn't seem to be running as smooth
as many expected/hoped. Do you think they will pick it up and maybe take on the Bulls for the east win? Or at least finish top 3 in the east?
(article on the matter: There is kryptonite for everyone)

Heat will make the playoffs...but don't think they'll make the finals.

I'm jumping on the Clippers bandwagon this season. Saw Raptors vs. Timberwolves last week and it was a good, close game. Entertaining basketball.

Kobe is on fire at the moment too, didn't see that coming. 4 games in a row with +40 points.

Yes.

The Raptors are such a cash cow (just like any sports team in Toronto), so their owners didn't really give a fuck about production on the floor and good players, etc. Hopefully this will change with new ownership, but I doubt it.

And while I know this isn't exclusive to them; if the Raptors just got a few fairly decent players, they would generate even more interest in the team, and waaaaaay more revenue than a team in a similar situation. But they just don't care or see that far a head. Thats what boggles me.

Dallas finally gelling.

Kidd is back... Mahini will be a star by years end... Their defense is picking up as well

Surprise if the year are the 76ers. They are legit. The way you determine a legit team is point differential. They have one of the best defenses and best offenses in the league. They remind me a lot of okc pace wise.

Right now I think it's set for okc vs Dallas in the west.... Miami vs Philly in the east. As of right now

Backing the Bulls this year as usual.

Playing strong, nothing too flashy, but chuggin along nicely. Would love to see them against OKC in the Finals!

Watched the Clippers play Nets last night. Clippers very balanced team and were killing it with offensive rebounds.

Nets came back within 3 points in the 4th quarter but Chauncey wasn't having none of that.

Very entertaining team to watch.

The Lakers are going to bomb this year. Derrick Fisher will think he took a time machine back to the mid 90's...

Believe it or not my favourite teams in order are: Magic, 76ers, Bulls. Ain't a bad season for me :)

As a life long golden state warriors fan :corncry:

I think the lack of a preseason and the shorter season benefits those teams that have the most raw talent and do not necessarily need to gel over time. Therefore, I'm going for the Heat/Bulls in the east and Thunder/Lakers in the west.

Bulls > Thunder in the finals :4:

it's been a tough season thus far, me being a diehard suns fan. they have no go to scorers, they are playing defense like shit, but I'm not going to give up on them, even though i just watched them get utterly destroyed by the bulls this eve. i have been enjoying watching the thunder a lot, speaking on watching another team. also fuck steve kerr in his vericose percolated asshole.
