subwoofer reviews

Post by secretagentgel » Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:14 am

not for me, cos i have nice monitors. but i was impressed that a sub below $200 got a good review. so if you need to add some low end... the behringer truth b2092a subwoofer got a good review in tapeop (good, free audio mag). they say it's not the best, but you get what you pay for. and it's a prosumer sub for under $200!

any other suggestions, reviews, experiences out there with subwoofers that could help future bedroom producers out?

corey

allways good to know.

when people read behringer, they almost instantly shake their heads, but if u don't have a lot of money (cos u make dubstep and u are not commercial..) then behringer has a very very good balance in price 'n quality.

then again if u have or u could save the money for something better.. sure man, i'd know it as well.

it's pretty fuckin loud if you live in flats/halls! i never turn it more than 40% of max volume... just too loud

LOL! One happy customer says, and I believe him:
"Our neighbours were complaing that they could feel the bass, over the road and 5 houses away through our doble glazing and theirs. We had a offical complaint made and the police came round to turn the music off about 4 in the morning, no one in our street talks to us and we get randoms evils all the time."

I've been looking at the Rhythmik Audio F12G atm, for the cost they are supposed to be the best you can get, some seriously clever technology in it as well.

A few more pennies and I will make it mine! :D

I think the sub less important than the satellites and it's expensive, so that's where you could save money.

It certainly covers less of the spectrum as your mains so they can give more accurate representation of the bigger picture as it were. But for sub heavy music I want something that's tight down there (2nd dirty pun in the thread?)
