Thanks a lot, man! I think I'll enable downloads when I get home today...ReachZenith wrote:Dude this is mad EP!C you giving out downloads at all? It sounds really good!
Dae... thanks much! I use NI Massive, and sometimes FM8 - on this track, only Massive was used. FM8 is better for absurd, raw, gritty monster noises, it seems (because of the way FM synthesis works). There is no resampling, just careful crafting of the sound in the VST. In response to your email, I've never used any downloaded patches... just make everything myself. And I was thinking of making my patches available at some pointdaeMTHAFKNkim wrote:hOLy shit. I just blew in my pants man. What'd you make your reese bass with? Can you tell me the process you go to do that? Like resampling or effect layering? Help would be great.
No problem man! No resampling at all? Those sounds are gnarly and I was thinking FM8 for those. Props on engineering the patches yourself. You should make a tutorial on how to make whatever sounds because I can't operate Massive smoothly like I would like too. But that's sweet man. Keep it going.Limenode wrote:Dae... thanks much! You can make a plethora of crazy sounds! I love it.
Lol I know I'm wondering the same thing. Don't even make the same sounds in massive but you should make a tutorial for massive in general. I don't know what a lot of things do. There isn't a tutorial that goes in depth with every little knob etc.smdroccity wrote:Yo this shit is fucking illlllllllllll! good shit fam...you're making me want to go back on my massive right now and see why it's not sounding like your shit lol! fareal tho, big one
Yeah I'm about to get some new headphones cuz I'm using Turtle Beach X1's to mix haha, But perfect selection of the orchestra part. Goes well with the rest of the song. Hmm yeah I haven't seen any tutorials that I'll call good. Probably just my luck. Do you have any bookmarked that you can share with me?Limenode wrote:Thanks much, guys! Yeah I'm still getting a hang of mixing; my monitors make almost anything sound fantastic and crisp, so it makes mixing for other sound systems more difficult. I didn't use a VST for the orch parts, btw. Just chopped up loops. I reckon any VST that sounds that good is way outta my price range. I am thinking about making a Massive tutorial- I think there are quite a few websites out there that break it down pretty well, though.
Haha... I suppose now that I think about it, there aren't that many! I learned Massive by searching for Massive tutorials on YouTube, and using http://www.massivesynth.com/. You learn a new little trick from each video / write-up, and that combined with messing with it yourself yields a lot of progress, I think. It's a really powerful VST once you start to figure it out.daeMTHAFKNkim wrote:Yeah I'm about to get some new headphones cuz I'm using Turtle Beach X1's to mix haha, But perfect selection of the orchestra part.
