Just wondering if anyone has any experience buying cigarettes from online european vendors. It's illegal in that you're expected to declare them and pay VAT on them, but it seems like all that happens if they catch you out is they get taken by customs at the postal depot.

Has anyone tried this? What are the chances of actually recieving the cigarettes?

Why not try to give it a go and just order one carton? I don't think customs would make such a fuss about it, especially if it's concealed in a discreet package. And as the UK is participating in the European Free Trade you could easily import them I guess. Free Transport of Goods & stuff... I'd try it. You can import 2 cartons a time I think.
